- open me bitch!:
- On "Nonstop" becoming the longest running top 10 entry on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2020
It is surreal to me seeing how far this song has come and that even after two whole months it is still pushing through and reaching new milestones. I am really thankful for the support and it has been a blessing to be able to release the song I wanted to release for my major comeback. I am lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people in my team and to have such a supportive fanbase rallying behind me everywhere I go.
On collaborating with Nicki Minaj for "Nonstop Remix"
Nicki is an incredibly talented woman and I think she is going to own the remainder of 2020. "Rake It Up" is a banger, I have had it on repeat for days now. When I reached out to her to tell her about my idea for the remix she was very nice and of course said yes which made me incredibly happy. We had her verse done in like 2 days after that. She is extremely quick to work with and also one of the smartest writers in the game. Her verse brought something really cool and fresh to the song which is exactly why I wanted this remix to have. So I am very pleased with the result and I hope everyone is enjoying the song as much as we are!
"Nonstop" performance
For the performance, Drake wore a green NIKE tracksuit paired with green sunglasses and white NIKE Air Force Ones. The stage was empty except for a few female dancers who also dressed in green. The performance was pretty simple, consisting mainly of Drake walking around the stage, glancing at the camera and interacting with the audience as he performed the song energetically. When it was over, the hosts joined Drake onstage to remind everyone "Nonstop" and its remix are out now everywhere.

- open me bitch!:
- On "Nonstop" and its massive success
It has been a ride seeing it so high on the charts since its release. It was never my goal for it to do well on the charts. I have found it's the songs that you make without thinking of chart success the ones that actually bring you the most commercial success. And that theory has seemed to be confirmed with this song! If you had told me it would be reaching the heights it has reached while I was recording it, I would not have believed you. In fact, the song itself was also scrapped! But anyway, I am very happy about the success but what I am most happy about is the fact my fans are enjoying it so much, as well as everyone else who has been supporting it and listening to it.
On "Nonstop Remix"
I want to send a special shout out to Nicki because she killed this remix and her verse was phenomenal. I am very happy our vision came to life and want to thank her again for lending her extreme talent to my song! I hope we can perform the song together sometime soon and I definitely look forward to working with her again. She is one of the best in the game and deserves nothing but the best!
"Nonstop" performance
For the performance, Drake wore a black NIKE tracksuit and NIKE Air Force Ones. After being introduced by Trevor, the camera cut to the empty stage, which immediately lit up in red tones as the beat to the song started playing and Drake started spitting the bars. The performance saw Drake interacting with the audience a lot, pointing the mic at them several times and overall just enjoying the vibes in the studio. When the performance was over, Trevor greeted Drake, congratulated him on his recent success and reminded the audience that "Nonstop" is out now everywhere.

Dua Lipa x WWYL Wild 104
[August 28 | 1st Free Radio | Call-In | US | 1/8]
[August 28 | 1st Free Radio | Call-In | US | 1/8]
- Interview:
- On August 28th, Dua Lipa did a phone interview with "WWYL Wild 104" to talk about her new single "Don't Start Now", and the upcoming album. "We have the one and only, Dua Lipa on the line with us. How are you?"
"Thanks for having me. I'm fine."
"Let's talk about your newest track which was released nearly two months ago and it has already become a hit. Tell us about it."
"Don't Start Now is about me telling my ex who has been trying to come back to me for a while to not start now with that "come back to me" thing again. I'm not here for that break up and make up stuff. I'm over it and moved on from that a long time ago. I think i would say that this happened to me in real life so i can relate to this... a lot. *laughs* Lyrically it's actually emotional but sonically it just makes you want to jam to it which is the type of sound i think that everyone should hear nowadays instead of those same songs playing on the radio all over again. It's out now, hope you guys like it."
"It's a great start for the new era and looks like you have an album coming. Do you think that it's shaping up to be a better album than your debut?"
"Definitely. Lyrical wise, i think it is not going to be as strong as my first album was but if we are going to talk about the production, it's going to be perfect. Much much much better than the debut and especially, more cohesive. Hope you like it when it's out."
"Would you like to tell us when is it going to be out?"
"Well i can't since i'm not even done with it yet *laughs* But i can actually say that i'm trying my best to not make my fans wait like they did for my first album. *laughs* You know i had to delay my first album for 9 frickin months but anyway- Hopefully things will go as planned and the album will be out around the right time. We are going to have to wait and see for that."

Dua Lipa x Billboard

[August 29 | Paid Magazine Promo | US | 2/8]
"Nostalgia always lays underneath the future."
- Full Story:
- on her single "Don't Start Now"
"So for those who don't know, it's called Don't Start Now. I wrote this one with Emily, Caroline and Ian back in like Winter 2019 if i remember correctly. Ian was also the producer behind this track. This one is such a great track to dance to even though it's about feeling heartbroken and angry which was one of the main things i wanted to have on this album. Sad lyrics laying underneath upbeat productions. Ian definitely killed it and i hope you guys love it as much as i do."
on changing her aesthetic for the new era
"I think that my musical taste has a huge effect on what types of sounds or looks i should have on my next record. There are many pure pop albums that have inspired me to write or come up with new sounds for my upcoming second album so far. All this "changing process" started happening when i somehow found myself getting into early 2000s electropop and discopop or club music. All the songs i listened to and the videos i watched helped me create this new character that you're seeing right now. I'm so interested in that kind of sound at this moment so thats what made me want to have this era...this way. Everything is more different than you saw during my debut days. From the bottom to the top. Like i said during an interview before, i'm bringing nostalgia back and mixing it with the future which is one of the reasons why i have this hairstyle also. The explanation of that would also be the summary of this new era. Nostalgia always lays underneath the future."
on the upcoming 2nd album
"As many of you know, i have been working on this album since the self titled tour days, it has been some time since i dropped a full record but i think that the songs that i'm going to drop are going to make this wait worth it. At least i'm trying to make it happen that way. I'm still not done with it yet but all i know is that it's shaping up to be better than my debut. Let's all stay patient and see in the future. So excited for this."
on the upcoming second single off 2nd album
"I have had such a great time promoting the lead single "Don't Start Now" thanks to my dear Loves. It's great to see this song having its longevity and doing this good two months in. Before any of you asks, i will say it. The next single is picked and it's on the way. I'm working on not only that but also many many other surprises that will cheer you up even more. Like i said at the beginning of this era, it's going to be a good and fun one. You will be the first to know about the next single i promise. Just make sure you follow my social media accounts okay? *giggles*"

Dua Lipa x American Idol
[August 30 | Paid | US | 3/8]
[August 30 | Paid | US | 3/8]
- Performance:
- On August 30th, Dua Lipa appeared on American Idol to perform her single "Don't Start Now". As the host introduced the singer, the camera switched the places and we saw Dua standing in an all white room, wearing all black, standing opposite to the camera. As we heard the intro bit playing in the background, the color of the background changed to black till she started singing the first verse. It turned back to white again as she did 180 and started doing hand movements while singing the first verse. She did 1, 2 steps towards the door which was behind the camera so she walked towards the camera, the camera turned its back and showed that Aaliyah was actually in room located on the audience part of the venue. There were stairs going down from that room to the actual stage. When Dua got off that room, the camera showed her slowly walking down the stairs while singing the pre-chorus. There were 4 female dancers wearing white on each side of the stairs looking at her. As she was standing in the middle of the stairs, all the girls started doing the routine for the song while the lights started constantly changing. After she took the final step all the girls continued slowly walking towards the main stage while they were doing the hand movements to match the lyrics. At this moment, Dua was waving hands to the judge panel and the camera also showed the judges getting up and vibing to the track. As the girls got to the main stage, the dancers stopped while Dua was showing her angry side with the way she was moving. Then the final chorus came on. Each lyric from the chorus started popping up on screens which were placed behind them while everyone on stage were doing the routine for the final time. To finish the performance, Dua walked towards the camera and pushed it away as she sang "Walk away, walk away oh-" and the singer recieved a standing ovation at the end of the performance.

Dua Lipa x Ellen
[August 31 | Paid | US | 4/8]
[August 31 | Paid | US | 4/8]
- Performance:
- On August 31st, Dua Lipa appeared on Ellen to perform her single "Don't Start Now". As the host introduced the singer, the camera was zoomed out to show the full stage where the pop singer was standing on. It was dark at first till we heard some bits from the instrumental. After the final one was played, one spotlight was turned on which also revealed the singer. She was singing against the audience. She started singing the first verse once she did a full 180. She was delivering some hand movements to match the lyrical content of the first verse. You could see the lights drastically changing while she was doing the hand routine for the song alone on stage throughout the first chorus. As she got to the second verse, she walked towards the front area of the stage while continuing to do more hand movements. She waved hands to the fans in the audience during the second verse part. She did the choreo for the track during the second chorus. As she got to the dance breakdown part she ran towards the audience and started jumping and having fun/interacting with them. You could see her screaming "Don't show up, up, up. Don't come out, out, out" through the mic to hype them up for the finale. She was also trying to make each audience member sing the words of the song to cheer them up more. She slowly walked back towards the stage while singing the bridge. Then she did the choreo for the track for the final time while looking more energetic and hyped. She hit each move perfectly and the camera was also showing the audience screaming at her effortlessly good looking choreo. She walked towards the camera and pushed it away at the end of the performance.

[August 31 | Paid | US | 5/8]
- Interview:
- On August 31st, Dua Lipa appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to talk about her single "Don't Start Now", the writing process of her upcoming album and being excited to be back. "How would you describe your newest single, "Don't Start Now"?"
"Don't Start Now is the firestarter of this new chapter of my career. This was written a year ago but me and my friends finished it like at the beginning of this year cause it took some time to find the perfect sound for this track which also helped us find the theme that we wanted to go for with this next album. It's the first single you got from the album and it's out now for those who don't know so...hope you guys like it."
"We're so excited to hear the record. Are you done with writing the album? How's the writing process going?"
"I have been trying to write this album for like a year and a half now. As many of you know, i was on this world tour with my writer friends and throughout those concert dates we wrote some stuff based on what i went through in my personal life during those days. I can relate to each song i have so far and i think you're going to love them. Shoutout to my incredibly talented writer friends who helped me come up with the lyrics i wanted to have in the way i wanted."
"And lastly, it felt like you were never going to come back. We're happy to see you coming back to save the music itself. Are you excited about this?"
"As you all can see, this girl is back and she's excited for the things that are going to happen later this year and she's feeling better than ever and with a better version of herself because of dear Loves! They kept on making me feel loved and happy. I'm back to give them another treat that they deserve. Get ready."

Dua Lipa x The Voice
[September 1 | Paid | US | 6/8]
[September 1 | Paid | US | 6/8]
- Performance:
- On September 1st, Dua Lipa appeared on The Voice to perform her single "Don't Start Now". As the host introduced the singer, the lights started closing till it was time for the spotlight to reveal the pop singer who was standing on stage, against the crowd and judges. She started singing the first verse once she did a full 180. She was moving her body, showing off the beautiful outfit she had on. She started pointing out her finger to people as if she was singing the pre-chorus to them while two female dancers walked out to stage. The colors of lights were changed once she started doing the hand-routine along with the girls throughout the chorus part of the performance. As we got to the second verse, we could hear the judges and audience screaming as they saw three hot guys trying to chase the girls but the girls put their hands up "doing the stop sign" as Dua sang the line "hurt me with the word goodbye" and they basically ignored them. But the guys didn't stop. So...for this pre-chorus part we saw more female dancers walking out to the stage. The girls lip synced the lyrics and did the routine along with Dua to the male dancers for this chorus. As soon as the guys walked off the main stage, the girls got into their positions and started doing the routine for the dance breakdown while the camera was also showing the judge panel cheering up. We could hear everyone in the room clapping on beat while the girls were killing it. After she sang the bridge, confettis started dropping down from the ceiling while the dancers were doing the routine for the final time. She walked towards the camera and pushed it away at the end of the performance.

It was written by me and a couple of my writer friends which one of them was also the producer behind this song. Ian Kirkpatrick, shoutout to him. It is such a well done song in my eyes and i have always thought that this would be the best choice to open an era like this. Shoutout to my writer and producer friends for helping me on this one and a lot more on the album. Thanks for the support so far everyone!"

- Interview:
- On September 3rd, Dua Lipa appeared on "Late Late Show with James Corden" to talk about her single "Don't Start Now", the new music video and her upcoming album. "Let's give it up for today's guest who is back from her hiatus. Dua Lipa, everyone."
*Don't Start Now plays as she enters*
"Hey James."
"Hey Dua, how are you?"
"I'm fine. Thank you for having me today. I really missed meeting you and of course your incredible audience."
"It's always nice to have you here. Hope you're doing fine now that you gotta be busy again."
"I am, thank God. I feel more energetic than ever so i'm running everywhere to spread the word that i have this new song out."
"Then let's talk about your new song. Tell us about it."
"This is a song i wrote a year and a half ago. Ian Kirkpatrick is the producer behind this track who also happened to help me on this songs writing and stuff. It was nice meeting and getting to know him and his discography...his history you know what i mean. I'm thankful that i had to chance to work with someone talented like him. We killed it when we got together in my opinion. And now, as you all know the song is finally out on all streaming platforms now. Enjoy bopping to it.""I have been bopping to it since its release if you ask me. You also have the new music video out. Looks great though. Who did you work it and how was it?"
"Yeah the new music video for the song is out now. You can watch it from my official YouTube channel. I worked on this one with an up and coming director Nabil. I came across to his work on Instagram and after doing some stalks and researches and getting all the info i needed, i thought that working with him for this songs music video would be a good plan. Like i thought that something good would come out of it of course and well, things happened in the way i wanted them to thank God. We shot this aesthetically pleasing video like a week before the song was released actually, in New York. I had so much fun working with him on it, i had so much fun dancing all day long with people i don't know. It was a fun day to be honest. Hope you like it."
